Remember a few years back (or longer?) when they stripped down all the fanciness and declared E3 a press only event via invitation? They even took away the booth babes! One could argue that that was quite a nice change as it put the focus back on the actual games and not all the glitz. Of course the public demanded access to the show and things returned to the normal craziness. The world is changing my friend. Male youth are becoming exceedingly more arousal addicted and the video game industry is not helping. This is creating a lot of problems that extends beyond the repetitiveness of new games. Sticking to the topic of games, I fear that the industry is moving backwards in terms of maturity and it's going to take a massive paradigm shift to fix it. I'm not sure what the catalyst will be, but it'll likely be the indie devs that save the day.

I like the idea of an indie only conference, but doesn't that already exist in some form? http://www.igf.com/

And I'm quite disappointed to not see any updates on GTA V. I need my GTA :'(
